Job Description Outline:

Duties:

  •  Handle all Troop funds, pay bills on recommendation of Scoutmaster & authorization of Troop committee
  •  Maintain a checking and savings account
  •  Train and supervise the Troop scribe in record keeping
  •  Keep adequate records of all troop financial transactions
  •  Supervise the Scout account & allocations to individual Scouts
     
  •  Plan & Supervise money-earning projects, including obtaining proper authorization*
  •  Recruit a team of volunteers to support Troop fundraising activities*
  •  Support & manage the activities of the Fundraising Coordinator if staffed*
  •  Lead in the preparation of the annual Troop budget
  •  Lead the Friends of Scouting campaign
  •  Report on finances to the Troop committee at each meeting

 

* These duties may be covered by the Fundraising Coordinator if this role is staffed. Since the Treasurer still bears the ultimate responsibility for these duties they will provide oversight/guidance for the Fundraising Coordinator

Holder of this Officer Role cannot concurrently hold any other Troop Committee Officer Role (except Charter Organization Representative) also cannot hold a concurrent role as a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster
