Instructor - Job Description:

Teaches one or more basic Scout advancement skills to Troop members based on an area of expertise demonstrated by Rank Advancement or Merit badge completion.

Initial work may be with the support of an ASM or may require a proficiency check in Scout skills and leadership/instruction skills from the Scoutmaster or an ASM.

NB In Troop election/selections for this role - first preference is given to Scouts at First Class Rank and above.   

Duties:

- Teaches one or more basic Scout skills for advancement requirements to individuals or Patrols
- Support Troop meeting teaching of the same skills in a large group setting
- Teach beyond the basic advancement requirements, examples, projects etc
- May be granted approval by the Scoutmaster to sign off requirements up to 1st Class in area of expertise.
