Adult Participation In Troop Activities:

Adult participants are always welcome at all Troop events - but specifically for the outdoor activities program we need Adults (Troop parents) to help with transportation (often not feasible or economical to drop & return), supervision and safety backup for our large Troop during the event.

If you want to understand how the Troop works this is a great way to see things in action... New Scout's parents can get their first taste of this at the Fast Start Campout which is easy for everyone to participate in (a family camp).

If you think you might become an Activity Leader/Co-Leader you should first attend several activities - including some like those you plan to lead. This will give you a background on how these events are planned, organized & run.

It is not required that you do anything more than sign-up before you attend an event - but we do suggest you take the on-line Youth Protection Training and also if you are driving we do require you to register as a Troop driver first before you can transport Scouts other than your own son.

When camping or backpacking with the Troop - adults may only share a tent with their own son, but not with any other Scouts. We encourage parents not to share a tent with their son - part of the outdoor experience should be for Scouts to learn independence & also teamwork with other Scouts.

Adult leaders may however combine to share a tent or RV as desired.
