Thanksgiving Hike 2009

Thanksgiving Family hike along the easternmost ridges of South Mountain.  This is an approx 7 mile loop hike with about 1400 feet of elevation gain.  Taken slowly it is not too strenuous and affords continuously great views over Ahwatukee & Phoenix. We will hike from Pima Canyon past the Marcos De Niza inscription rock and stay on the Guadalupe Ridgeline trail (one of the great unmarked trails in South Mountain Park). We’ll follow it along as it drops down into Beverly Canyon and back up the other side and then ultimately down south to the power lines near E Desert Star/S 40th Pl. & back on the Desert Classic trail to Pima Canyon Trailhead.

Family groups can return the way you came for a shorter hike or skip out and return via Beverly Canyon /Pima Rd or Beverly Canyon/Desert Classic for a shorter hike with less elevation gain
