Superstition Mountains Backpack

Overnight Backpack in the Superstitions around Weavers Needle

Approximately - 7 miles across both days

Leader:  Mr. Kofron

Saturday February 21st  - Sunday February 22nd

From the Peralta Trailhead we will hike the Bluff Springs Trail for 2 miles.  We will then take the Terrapin Trail north for approximately 1 mile to the ‘Weaver’s Needle Crosscut’.  Here it gets interesting!  We’ll carefully work our way south of Weaver’s needle for about .9 miles to an intersection with the Peralta Trail.  This shortcut will be slow going but will take us thru some very interesting terrain!  A short hike back along the Peralta Trail gets us to Pinyon Camp where we’ll stay for the evening.  This first day is approximately 4 miles but will be slow going as it is a strenuous trail.  Sunday morning we complete the loop with a 3 mile hike back to the Peralta trailhead, stopping at Fremont Saddle for a great view of the Needle!
