Havasupai Canyon 4 Day Backpack Trip:

March 10th-13th 2007

Trip Leaders:  Mr Hawkins & Mr Link

One of the all-time classic scenery hikes in the Southwest.

Post Trip Report:

Crew: Alex, Chris, Joe, Kevin, Riley, Robby, Tyler;  Adults: Ken, Jim, Bob & Jeff

Saturday  - Depart 8:00am - drive up to the trailhead at Hualapai Hilltop, camp for the night.
Not too cold - big fire - foil dinners and Troop Dutch Oven desert tonight.

Sunday - Hike down into Supai and on to the campsite, sunny - 10 miles and 2200 feet descent..

Monday -  Alex, Chris, Robby, Tyler, Jim, Ken & Jeff hiked the 20 mile round trip to the Colorado river today, Joe, Kevin, Riley & Bob hiked around the campsite, town of Supai & upper canyon/waterfalls area.

Tuesday - Hike out to Hualapai Hilltop and the cars, 10 miles and 2200 feet elevation gain! Drive home - returning about 9pm

Original Summary: 

10 miles each way mostly flat but with a challengingly steep (2200') climb near the trailhead. Optional extra hike down the canyon to the Colorado river
