Salt River District (SRD) Advancement Days:

Several time a year SRD holds district wide advancement days where Scouts can complete most of the requirements for 1-2 merit badges in a single day.

If they complete all the defined pre-requisited they can complete all the remaining requirements and earn 1-2 badges that day.

Usually SRD usually holds 2 Advancement Days in June and one in December.

Scouts should sign up as early as possible for the badges they want to ensure they get registered for their top 1/2 choices. Sign up at the next Scout meeting.

The Troop registers all our scouts as a single Troop list - do not fill out the individual registrations - simply contact the Troop 278 Advancement Day Coordinator to get registered.

There is a nominal fee to attend an Advancement Day - it has historically been $1 for each Scout (may vary). Often this will just be deducted from their scout accounts - assuming they already have earnings - see the Flyer & announcements for more details including Troop car pooling information.

Parents - we will need volunteer drivers to take Scouts to and from the sessions - you need not stay - although you can if you wish.
